David and his horse, Topper, come to us from Alberta, Canada. He had been wintering in Ocala for three years, where he began riding with Missy in March of 2011. After the remarkable progress he and his horse had made over the short time he trained with Missy, he knew this was the program for him. Once he graduated from high school he moved out to Pennsylvania to join the team at BHF!

David has been riding horses his whole life, growing up being packed around to horse shows with his mom and sisters. Starting out in the local Pony Club when he was 7, David was instantly hooked on jumping, cross country in particular, over time growing to love dressage as well.

David's long time dressage competitor is Topper (pictured above), a 2003 Irish Sport Horse, imported from our wonderful friend Paddy Hughes of Horse First. Topper has evented to the CCI* level, but is now enjoying his new life as a Dressage horse. They are currently competing at Prix St. George captured the Young Rider silver in 2014!

In 2014, David also took over the ride of CCI**** veteran Critical Decision who he competed up through the 2*. Their relationship culminated in their gold medal finish at the NAJYRC 2* Championships July 2014!

BG is now retired to the lower levels of eventing in order to show another young rider the sport of eventing. Through the generous support of Blue Hill client Dr. Peter Berk, David has recently imported his next talented competitor, Lindbergh, a Brandenburg gelding who is full of upper level promise!
