Her successes in 2015 resulted in Madeline being named to the 2016 Eventing 25 List! Madeline is a very dedicated horsewoman and a inspiration to many young people in the industry. We are proud to have her as part of the team at Blue Hill Farm!

NAME: David Ziegler
With BHF since March 2011
Discipline - Eventing & Dressage
Horses - Peninsula Top Man, Fritz
Find DZEquestrian On Facebook

David and his horse, Topper, come to us from Alberta, Canada. He had been wintering in Ocala for three years, where he began riding with Missy in March of 2011. After the remarkable progress he and his horse had made over the short time he trained with Missy, he knew this was the program for him. Once he graduated from high school he moved out to Pennsylvania to join the team at BHF!

David has been riding horses his whole life, growing up being packed around to horse shows with his mom and sisters. Starting out in the local Pony Club when he was 7, David was instantly hooked on jumping, cross country in particular, over time growing to love dressage as well.

David's long time dressage competitor is Topper (pictured above), a 2003 Irish Sport Horse, imported from our wonderful friend Paddy Hughes of Horse First. Topper has evented to the CCI* level, but is now enjoying his new life as a Dressage horse. They are currently competing at Prix St. George captured the Young Rider silver in 2014!

In 2014, David also took over the ride of CCI**** veteran Critical Decision who he competed up through the 2*. Their relationship culminated in their gold medal finish at the NAJYRC 2* Championships July 2014!

BG is now retired to the lower levels of eventing in order to show another young rider the sport of eventing. Through the generous support of Blue Hill client Dr. Peter Berk, David has recently imported his next talented competitor, Lindbergh, a Brandenburg gelding who is full of upper level promise!

Rachel Gross, Assistant Trainer

Rachel on TaldiRachel, a Boston native, originally came to the Unionville area to work for dressage trainer Todd Flettrich. Rachel wanted to improve her skills as a show jumping and event rider, so in 2008 she made the natural transition to Blue Hill Farm.

During 2013 Rachel competed a pinto Oldenburg gelding, Solo SWF, owned by Seema Sonnad. Solo had competed in lower level dressage, but they focused his talent in the jumper ring until he was sold in early 2014. Rachel also had the ride on Carlingford Taldi, showing him to fourth level and schooling at Prix St. George and I1.

Rachel has expanded her training repertoire considerably during her time studying under Missy and Jessica at Blue Hill Farm. During 2012 she applied those skills while training and competing ParaEquestrian Elizabeth Pigott's mount Whitney's Willow.

She trained and rode client horses at BHF and enjoyed working with both the able bodied and ParaEquestrian riders. During 2015 Rachel decided to return to her home state of Texas to work within her family's business. She will be missed!

BridgitteNAME: Brigitte Aickelin
DOB - 08/09/1993
With BHF since January 2013
Discipline: Eventing
Horse: Forty Six Peaks (Chip)
2004, 17.0h TB Gelding

Brigitte Aickelin came to us from Cumming, Georgia she began eventing at the age of 8. She found her first event horse, Baskin, at the age of 10, who taught her the ropes at the lower levels. Her next horse was Chip, who came straight from the track and began his competitive career at BN Pony Club Eventing Rally. He progressed quickly and they quickly moved up the levels to their first Prelim together in February 2012 at Pine Top Farm in GA.

Chip and Brigitte showed in many events at training level and at Pony Club Championships in 2011, as well as the AEC's in 2012 at Prelim. Chip unfortunately had to retire in the fall of 2013 due to arthritus in his neck, but Brigitte aquired Chip's half brother, Harper, in September of 2013. While at BHF Brigitte and Harper competed up through Prelim and also placed 3rd at the Waradaca Training 3 Day in the fall of 2015!
